CLAIMS Direct Global Data Coverage

CLAIMS Direct merges data from a variety of sources including:

• Bibliographic data from DOCDB, the EPO master documentation database covering data from over 100 countries.

• Legal status from INPADOC, a database produced by the EPO and covering over 50 international patent authorities. This data is available to all subscription levels. More details about DOCDB and INPADOC coverage can be found here. Premium Plus subscribers also receive legal status data from our Chinese data source. See Chinese Data Improvements for more information.

• Bibliographic and full text data from national patent offices as described in the table below. The availability of this data will differ depending on your subscription level. The latest content updates and occasional data issues are documented here.

• For non-English publications, English translations of titles, abstracts, descriptions, and claims from Google Translate (with the exception of China, which is receiving translations from a separate source) as described in the table below. We do not use Google Translate for parties, but translated names are provided if they are available from our data sources.

• Attachments such as PDFs and referenced images, which are typically delivered within 24 hours of the full text delivery. See the Attachment Server Description and Coverage page for more information.

• IFI Snapshots including standardized names, patent status, expiry dates, and claims summaries. See ifi-integrated-content for coverage details.
